The department Base Engine Engineering is responsible for the complete design of the Base Engine from the oil sump up to the cylinder head. Base Engine Engineering has four different design groups, Base Engine Upper, Base Engine Lower, Oil system and Cylinder system. The department is fully responsible for the design of the components and systems from the very early concept phase to industrialisation phase. The groups are also responsible for all parts already in production and aftermarket.
We are now looking for two First Design Engineers Valve System Diesel/Cylinder Block Petrol/Diesel. In these positions you will either work with the design of the cylinder block for diesel and petrol engines or with the design of the valve systems for the diesel engines depending on the position. Work will be performed in cross functional teams consisting of competences represented from suppliers, purchasing and the engine manufacturing plants among others.
Main responsibilities
• Design responsible for Diesel Valve train components (Base Engine Upper) or design responsible for cylinder block design (Base Engine Lower) depending on position
• Design and create 3D models and drawings in CAD (Catia V5)
• Product structure in Team Center Engineering and KDP
• Secure deliveries in time to all concerned stakeholders
• Close contact with suppliers and engine manufacturing plants
Required qualifications
• Bachelor of science (B.Sc) in mechanical engineering or similar
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience using CAD, preferably Catia V5
• General engine knowledge
• Good level of English written and spoken
• Experience in product development processes

• Ability and ambition to learn and grow professionally
