Scania Propulsion Department UP is responsible for:
- Development of Gearboxes, Electric Propulsion and Axle Central Gear.
The Design group UPCI in Propulsion Department is responsible for:
- External installation for Scania Designed Propulsion (Gearboxes and Electric Machines)
- Design and installation of Scania Propeller Shaft, in Scania Truck and Bus.
- Installation of Transfer Gearbox and Allison Automatic Gearboxes, in Scania Truck.
- Layout support in UP and MockUp-building of Propulsion program in UP.
Your role
• As a design engineer you will work in a tight and effective team to deliver maximum customer value.
• Your responsibilities will be design responsible for different component and sub-system (for Gearboxes and Electric Machines).
• As a designer in UPCI you will be part of the team to develop the future propulsion and secure function and robustness of your component and sub-system with respect to weight, cost, manufacturability and mountability.
• You will use CAD/Catia and deal with practical problem solving in collaboration with a cross functional working group, as in R&D, production, purchasing and aftermarket.
Your profile
You have a technical degree of at least bachelor level or equivalent. You are creative, genuinely interested in technology and curious to broaden your technical expertise. Communication is very important and we work with our cross-functional teams on a daily basis. For this reason, we are seeking someone who enjoys working in a multicultural context and has good written and spoken English.
As your tasks will range from problem analysis to problem solving, you need to be a good communicator and team player. You must enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with others. It is plus if you have experience from design in plastic, sheet metal, casting and media routing.
