It's an exciting time ahead for the R&D at Scania with all the challenges that comes along with future power lines and electrification of truck and buses.
We are the Air intake & Noise Encapsulation team and we are responsible for the development of air intake system for Scania trucks as well as effectively reduce the overall noise from the engine and powerline. Legal requirements on the noise levels allowed for a truck are continuously being sharpened and the automotive industry is at the same time in the largest technology shift ever, the shift towards electrification. This creates new challenges for us and new sources of noise to reduce.
We are a team of 10, including both designers, a project manager and a manager. To tackle the challenges ahead we are looking for a design engineer to join our team.
Your work assignment
You will be a part of the noise encapsulation team and have the main responsible for the development of one of our systems meanwhile building experience and knowledge for future projects. You will work with 3D-modelling in Catia V5, cross functional problem solving, project planning and have a lot of fun! You will be a part of a team that believes that delivery is important and team spirit is everything. You need to be able to work together but we also expect you to be self-going and take responsibility for the details in your own work.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in Acoustics, material technology, production methods, process and method development. Something close to our heart is simulation driven design, both in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics.
Your Profile
You have an academic education at university level in Integrated Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering or similar. You communicate fluently in English in both speech and writing. Work experience from similar positions is a merit, but not a requirement.
