Chassis Systems and Control is part of the Hardware unit within Product and Quality at Volvo Car Group. We are passionate in developing technology that enables Volvo Car Group to fulfil its aggressive targets to be the leader in the areas of Vehicle Dynamics and Active Safety.


Who are we?
Structure parts is one of three groups within the wheel suspension section. Our mission is to develop wheel suspensions that enable premium level ride comfort, handling and road noise isolation. Kinematic packaging, durability and cost/weight efficiency are some of the challenges we face. We co-operate with a wide range of internal partners, such as vehicle dynamics, NVH, durability, manufacturing engineering and others. Our supplier base is worldwide, from local Swedish to Chinese.


Main responsibilities
* Design and technical responsible for actual in-house designed parts within the wheel suspension.
* Responsible for delivery within agreed time/cost/technic frames throughout all development phases of a vehicle project.
* Responsible for Technical regulations and design release of models and drawings.
* Secure mutual agreement with other systems and functions needed to provide total function.
* Handle supplier contacts and be active in sourcing activities from an engineering perspective.
* Contribute in drawing up component strategies to ensure Volvo's position as a leader in the fields of Vehicle Dynamics and Active Safety.

We are looking for a dedicated built to print design engineer within the structure parts area with main focus on knuckles and links. You will be working with in-house designs and expected to provide technical expertise as well as contribute with input for future component strategies.

We believe you need a strong passion for design and working within cross-functional teams in an international environment together with global suppliers. You will have to build and maintain a network with expertise across the company to secure correct status in the many aspects of a car environment. We see that you are someone who is comfortable with defining your own work plan and good communication and a customer focus is given.

You will work closely with e.g. SW team, NVH, Vehicle Dynamics, Strength & Durability centre and teams responsible for surrounding components.

Required qualifications
* BSc in Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering or similar
* Skills in Catia V5 and team centre
* Experience from built to print design
* Experience from structure parts design is an advantage
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driver's license B or equivalent
