Are you ready to work in an challenging and exiting area help fulfilling all attribute targets with high focus on NVH, Driveability, Ride comfort and durability? Then you should apply for the work as Design Engineer - Powertrain Mounts System.
As a Design Engineer at Powertrain Mount System, you have the responsibility to design for "Build to print", the department handles all the design and production of technical documents which the selected suppliers use for manufacturing. You will be responsible for some components within the area of powertrain mounts and you will be working in one of our teams with other design/CAE and GDL, to a specific project. The work is cross-functional with many contacts both within and outside Volvo, in many cases in an international environment where English is used for communication. Time is valuable so having a structured work schedule and managing your tasks well is of the essence.
What you'll do
You will be responsible for designing for "Build to Print" and for components within powertrain mounts. You will also be responsible for project oriented work tasks and manufacturing friendly design work in Catia V5, surfaces and solids.
Do you fit the profile?
You need at least a B.Sc. grade within mechanics or mechatronics, or a similar education. Fluent in English both spoken and written is required. We expect you to have very good knowledge in Catia V5. It is key to have knowledge of design work in pressure die cast aluminium, extruded aluminium, sand casted aluminium, stamped steel structures, and cast iron. You need to have knowledge in design of plastic components and technical material knowledge and experience of plastic/metal. We want you to also have knowledge of linear/nonlinear FEA simulations in Catia/Abaqus. You should also have experience within product development and preferably within the sections technology area.
