We develop components and systems to secure the engine installation for Heavy Trucks, Cab over engine, within GTT.
This includes Cooling layout & performance, Cooling package installation, Air intake system, Fan installation, Oil fill & check, Noise absorbents and Pipes & Hoses for coolant system.
In our work we have contact with other business areas and units like GTO, Powertrain engineering, Bus and Construction Equipment as well as Vehicle engineering colleagues at the sites in Lyon, Greensboro, Curitiba and Bangalore. Supplier involvement is very important as well.
For the future we are faced with a challenge to handle the coming emission legislations for noise and exhausts which put restrictions on the performance of the coolant system, as well as increasing the amount of heat to be handled.
Experienced engineer, Pipes & Hoses design in coolant system
Job Description
In the team Pipes & Hoses we are now looking for a Design engineer to reinforce the teams deliveries.
The Coolant system consists of both cooling and heating of auxiliary systems such as Transmission cooling, Retarder cooling, CAB heating etc.
As a Design Engineer working with the pipes and hoses for the cooling system, you will be a member of a creative and dynamic team, responsible for all transportation of coolant and charge air in the vehicle.
In your work there will be daily contacts with other departments and suppliers around the world (Europe, India, Brazil).
You will have your own field of responsibilities such as components, installation, functions and time plans in our projects.
Main Deliveries
• Design and installation of components in the specific area
• Secure quality and readiness before release of components and installations
• Drive technical dialogue with Manufacturing and Aftermarket
• Contribute to the team with a positive mindset
There will be opportunities to work with development in all phases, from early pre studies to maintenance (quality and cost improvement).
We work in a very international environment in cross functional teams. There are good opportunities for personal development within the position.
The main tools, besides your own competence and common sense, will be Creo Parametric, KOLA, AVP, Protus and other in-house developed tools.

Qualifications and Skills
• Experience from design and development, using CAD >4 years (Creo Parametric)
• Knowledge in different manufacturing techniques, with focus on pipes and hoses
• Deep material knowledge for steel, aluminium, plastic and rubber
• Experience from the automotive industry in general, and vehicle cooling system knowledge in particular is desired
• Experience and interest in fluid mechanics
• Engineering degree in relevant field
