The Fuel section is one of the development departments within Powertrain installation and is responsible for the development of the fuel and EVAP system. The section consists of approximately 50 employees in four groups and the groups works with project management, distribution, and fuel tank and fuel fill.
This position is located within EVAP-system & Fuel lines system group where we develop tank ventilation solutions with carbon canisters leakage detection devices and purge components as well as fuel lines, pressure sensors and other integrated components.
We are now looking for an experienced Design Engineer - Leader to strengthen our team, secure long-term competence and to deliver our future projects. You will work with system designers and product managers in the concept phase of platforms and projects and lead the design work in the industrialization phase of the project. Your team consists of CAD engineers, test engineers, suppliers and you will lead the team towards technical, financial and timing targets. Since fuel lines and EVAP system has boundaries to most engineering areas in the vehicle, you will have a large network within Research & Development. Main responsibilities
• To lead the team creating technical solutions for fuel lines, carbon canisters, valves, sensors and fasteners
• Documenting the assignment by updating and releasing documentation for systems and components
• To push forward and establish the necessary decisions for the handling of deviations
• Assuring the quality of design solutions by analysing needs and follow-up examinations
• Ordering test objects, soft and hard tools and bought assignments
Required qualifications
• B.Sc degree engineering or equivalent experience
• 4 years of experience within product development
• 4 years of experience from project management, to communicate and work in team
• Design experience in polymeric and/or metallic materials
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Driver's license type B
• Experience of Volvo systems KDP, TCE and amendment process with Volvo Part Concern is meritorious
• Experience of motors, electrical equipment and / or chemical processes is meritorious
• Quality Work with Design For Six Sigma is meritorious
• Educated and active in Catia V5, 3D/2D is an meritorious
