Right now we are hiring a Design Engineer for our Installation team to work with installation of new technologies connected to automation, electrification and connectivity.
This is us, your new colleagues
Volvo CE in Braås, located close to Växjö, develop autonomous and articulated haulers and wheel loaders. We do everything from product planning, development, sales and marketing to purchasing, manufacturing and assembly of the complete machine. The team
We are four design engineering teams responsible for new product and feature development, and aftermarket quality. Our engineers are working in a supportive open landscape, closely together with production, purchasing, suppliers and aftermarket.
The Installation team consists of 10 design engineers who are working in cross functional projects. We are responsible for installation of the powertrain, hydraulic and electrical systems in the machines. By working with positioning and installation of all major components and equipment we are also very involved in the overall layout of the products.
The role
Together with your new colleagues, you will create products that represent quality, safety and care for the environment. We benefit from having the production line at the same location, as well as a global network within the Volvo Group.
You will work with both electrical and mechanical design solutions related to high voltage, radar, energy storage, radio communication, by-wire solutions etc. and join our transformation into the technology shift that we are facing

Knowledge & experience
To be successful in your new role you need the following knowledge/experience:
M.Sc./B.Sc. degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience from Electrical or Mechanical Design
Strong communication skills in English, spoken and written
Catia v5 or other 3D-modelling software
It is an advantage if you have knowledge or experience in some of the following fields:
Off-road machinery / Heavy trucks, Installation of engine, electrics and hydraulics, Sheet metal design, Fatigue calculations, Lean and Agile way of working
