hela Sverige Scania Engines is a Scania product area with the responsibility to develop and market Engines for a broad range of (I)ndustrial and (M)arine applications. The business is managed as a "company within the company", based on synergies with a clear profitability target above the general Scania targets.
At Technical Development within I/M-Engines, we are responsible for the development of complete engines, including base engine, cooling systems, electrical systems and after-treatment throughout the complete project and product lifecycle. The development is mainly done by own staff, but also with outsourced resources in, and support from, the general Scania R&D organization.
The M-team responsible for (P)roduct (C)hange (R)equests including (D)esign (A)djustments within I/M organization. Assignments are received from different areas such as: R&D green arrow teams, production, purchasing and even after-sales and are managed from preparation to final introduction based on Scania established priorities, mostly with end customer in focus, followed by delivery precision and profitability. The M-team is also responsible for design changes within Quick process (FQ- and PR-assignments) generally managed by assignment leaders in Quick team.
Your profile
As a designer engineer in I/M M-team, you have an engineering degree or equivalent with focus in mechanical design, metal fabrication process (e.g. casting, laser cutting, machining, welding or equivalent) or product development, since you are responsible for design changes and optimization of current product portfolio in order to attend technical requirements established in correspondent assignments.
Your experience as a design engineer indicates that you are familiar with CATIA V5 and its functionalities. Previous experiences and familiarity with product development systems such as ENOVIA, KS, OAS and FRAS are a merit.
Since you are working in a dynamic and diverse work environment, it 's expected that you are able to involve, lead, follow-up and participate in cross-functional teams by contributing with innovative designs with regards to quality, delivery and costs focus. You have the ability to cooperate with test engineers, production engineers, purchasers and suppliers who are usually in scene along the development and introduction phases. Your self-structured behaviour in combination with problem-solving orientation are fundamental to succeed in this position.
Swedish language in speech and writing is necessary for this function, although your assignments may also involve international contacts and the most of documents are reported/communicated in English, you need to manage then English in both speech and writing.
