Interior development is now looking for a new colleague, so if you are passionate about automotive interior concepts and want to reach your personal goals together with other people, then we welcome you to join us as Design engineer in our Front seat system engineering team at Volvo Cars. The interior of the car is one of the most important areas to influence on customers wellbeing, satisfaction and a motivation to buy a Volvo again and now you have the opportunity to make an impact! The position will develop your innovation and strategic skills, your business acumen and your ability to make complex requests pragmatic and economically viable.

At Front Seat system engineering we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of front seat comfort, Scandinavian luxury and safety. We lead the development of a complete integrated Front seat into the vehicle, balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of around twenty persons with different competences and backgrounds and who, in spite of what we work with, are one team. We are now searching for a Design Engineer for Front seats.

What you'll do

You will be working in one of the teams in our agile environment which is just getting into life in our group. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, we are working with the flow according to current needs and development of the product.

You will be ensuring packaging of the Front seats, meeting environmental standards and design demands. You will take on the responsibility for all investigations and technical inputs towards internal departments and suppliers. The solutions for design details will be done by the suppliers, hence strong collaboration with them will be the key to common success. You will continuously perform CAD investigations and review the status of the product, in order to maintain correct status of the design and drawings in the system.

You and your skills

You have M.Sc./B.Sc degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or several years of relevant experience in automotive industry. Proficiency in Catia V5 are the key to perform in this role. It would be an advantage to have TeamCenter and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge, hence working experiences with our company. It is beneficial to have car seats development knowledge or at least interior design experience within automotive industry.

English is however mandatory as it is our company language and it would be a merit to have a driving license "B", to be able to drive and experience our final products.

You have a broader technical understanding, courage and a passion for success. The role demands you to be decisive, have a high degree of personal order and self drive. Self-sufficiency and inclusive attitude with to-do mind-set is an asset that will bring you success in this position.

On this position we expect someone with good communication and presentation skills. You should have great interest in design and product development. Further, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow together with us.
