We are now looking for a Design Engineer within propulsion installation, you will be part of a team working with battery containment. You will play a key role making sure that our hybrid vehicles are fireproof in all situations, among that they meet up to other requirements. You'll also gain a broad network within Volvo Cars.
What you'll do
You will be designing components for the battery disconnect unit (BDU), high current busbars and harnesses for both low and high voltage applications. Since you are working in an agile environment you will have the opportunity to try other tasks such as design leader/KU work, developing your skills and getting more T-shaped. In your work you will have support from your agile team including Scrum master, Product Owner and Team Manager.
Do you fit the profile?
We think you have a bachelor's degree, at least, within power electrics, electronics or that you have equivalent work experience. To be suitable for the positions we also believe that you have 5-10 years' experience of working within product development and designing products. You have design experience from CAD-design in CATIA, NX or equivalent system.
In this position, you spend many hours in exciting discussions with different areas within Volvo Cars as well as suppliers. That's why we believe that you have good communication skills and enjoys being in contact with a lot of people. There's a lot to keep track of, which will be easy for you since you're structured, organized and good with priorities.
You have good skills in English, both spoken and written, if you are certified in Six Sigma and have worked with crash integrity, vehicle structure parts or cooling performance we are even more impressed.
