The section Boosting & Exhaust systems is part of Engine Engineering within Powertrain Development and employs a total of 70 people in different roles. The section is responsible for the development and application of Boosting & Exhaust systems hardware for all Volvo Cars vehicles. Boosting & Exhaust systems consists of four development groups: Boosting Systems, Exhaust Aftertreatment Diesel, Exhaust Aftertreatment Gasoline and Exhaust Systems.
We are now looking for a Design Engineer Catalyst and Downpipe to the group Exhaust Systems. The group is responsible for the canning work of the hot end - catalysts and downpipe in all applications. We also have the responsibility of brackets to the hot end, Differential Pressure ensor system (DPS) with pipes and sensor and Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGTS). The group consists today of 20 people where you will be a valuable team-member.
As a Design Engineer, you will have the lead and are responsible that parts are delivered during the project and over the lifetime. In this role you will be involved in design work as well as more project related items like time-plans and deliveries to different builds. In your daily work, you will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing and internally with the Group Design Leaders.
Main responsibilities
* Design new or make changes on existing catalyst systems
* Bring the parts you are responsible for into production - newly designed or running changes
* Responsible for technical documents
* Responsible that we fulfil deliveries to concerned project(s)
* Cross-functional co-operation with other areas within Powertrain and R&D
Required qualifications
* Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Design experience preferably sheet metal
* Experience from working with exhaust system is highly meritorious.
* Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
