We are looking for someone who is passionate about textile development! Right now, we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer for Textile.
Textiles are being used in a lot of our products across the IKEA product range, and to be able to do this in a good way we need to take full ownership of the fabric developments. As part of our Textile Development function, we are developing on demand for the different IKEA product range areas and setting fabric standards for the whole of IKEA. This role is mainly aimed towards the on-demand development. It is in our centralized hub for fabric development that the work and responsibility lies to find and provide good solutions for a broad part of the IKEA product range. This is where you come in!
You will be the technical focal point throughout the fabric development projects. As part of a team, your main task will be to develop the fabric and ensure that we meet our goals. You will also be involved in the specification and documentation. You will work in a project team with different expertise and work in close collaboration with different development teams in IKEA and other external stakeholders. You are going to be involved in many projects at the same time and responsible to ensure that we deliver the right fabric to the product. Qualifications
You are an experienced Textile Engineer with several years of experienced in production, raw materials and construction of fabrics, preferably home furnishing fabrics. Knowledge in weaving software is beneficial. Genuine curiosity and interest in this topic is your driving force, as well as a drive to provide new textile solutions to our customers. You are going to work in a network of 100+ colleagues, all waiting for you to join our common goal to make a better every day for the many. In IKEA we work together so communication and good co-operation with colleagues is essential to be successful in this role.
