Powertrain Mounts is a section within Powertrain and has responsibilities of areas such as isolating the body from powertrain movements and road excitations, limit the powertrain movements within the allowed packaging space and to keep function and efficiency during vehicle lifetime. Our products have a strong influence on the cars' characteristics in regards to drivability, ride comfort, noise and vibration.
As DESIGN ENGINEER you will be responsible for the development of a number of components. There is a high focus on meeting requirements while making sure that the component is manufacturable and cost effective. You will work within an extensive network of colleagues from your own group as well as from other departments, suppliers and internal customers, and together find creative system solutions and components with large effect on customer experience.
Main responsibilities:
• Develop components, create 3D models and drawings in Catia V5
• Support package meetings
• Be involved in balancing attribute requirements
• Administrate 3D/2D data in Team Center
• Communicate with suppliers and internal customers
Required qualifications:
• BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent knowledge obtained by working experience
• Good knowledge in Catia V5
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Driver's licence (B-level)
• Experience in construction work of alumina and rubber components is meritorious
• An asset is knowledge about Volvo IT system KDP and Team Center
• Experience and knowledge of die casting and other manufacturing techniques for aluminum articles is meritorious
• An asset is knowledge of structural calculation, strength calculation and screw joints
