Powertrain Engineering at Volvo Group Trucks Technology can offer you a position as a development engineer in our urea dosing system team. You will be a key contributor to the next generation of drivetrains to Volvo trucks and busses. As a component responsible design engineer, you are an important member of the cross-functional global team, consisting of function developers, purchasers, test engineers and suppliers. You will participate in the work to specify, develop, verify and validate the system as well as components to meet well-specified requirements. The work tasks cover the full range from advanced engineering through project development and product maintenance.
In addition to initiating and following the results from performed tests, you will coordinate the technical aspects in close cooperation with our suppliers and our other development departments.

Main Tasks
Defining technical specifications and set design requirements for components and systems, establish verification plans, initiate simulations and testing
Evaluating technical solutions and support development in-house or at sub-suppliers
Ensuring prototype part availability and that technical documentation is released in accordance with project time schedules
Participating in project coordination meetings and APQP activities
Following up and reporting on the verification activities
Defining and verifying control and diagnostic functions together with function developers
Following and acting upon potential field quality situations

Desired Qualities
M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Proficient in English
General knowledge of internal combustion engines
You have a good understanding and experience of different mechanical, hydraulically or mechatronic components or systems
You are flexible and manage several areas, both theoretical and in practice. Experience in the fields of CAD, simulation/calculation and production processes is considered a merit
You have a passion for mechanic development in general and recognize yourself as analytical, structured, precise and prestige less
Positive mindset and ability to work in a dynamic organization
