hela Sverige The group Engine Mounted Cooling System is part of the department Propulsion Energy Systems and the section Exhaust & Cooling System. The operation of Cooling System is divided into two groups working closely together (Chassis- and Engine mounted cooling system) in order to provide complete cooling systems to all engine and car projects at Volvo Car Group. Cooling system is a fundamental area in respect to thermal management and C02 reduction. We work in close cooperation with our suppliers and the different car and engine projects. We deliver complete system to new car projects and to current running production and have the total responsibility for the complete cooling system in the car.
As Design Engineer, you will work closely with other Design Engineers and Component Owners. You will have a responsible for the deliveries regarding design solutions of brackets, hoses and pipes and solve packaging issues in engine bay for the Cooling system.
Main responsibilities
* Design work within the area of cooling system
* 3D-geometry in Catia V5 and create 2D drawings
* Connecting models in TCE and supply other relevant systems
* Solve packaging issues in engine bay
* Together with supplier, create a cost effective and robust design
* Receive supplier models, review them and release into Volvo system
* Present appropriate material for presentation at Project meeting, line or similar meeting
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. grade within mechanics or a similar education
* Good knowledge in Catia V5, 3D/2D
* Understand English both spoken and written
* Driving license B
Meritous qualifications
* Knowledge of Product Development Processes
* Experience/Knowledge of our Design process
* Knowledge of Volvo systems eg. KDP, TCE, VPC, Lotus Notes
Personal qualities
* Communication skills and easily to connect with others
* Business and performance driven
* Analytical and a great technical interest
* Positive
