Ålö AB, Sweden is the world leader in production and sales of agricultural front loaders and implements. The company has production in Europe, Asia and North America and our products are sold and marketed globally. You will be a part of a driven and ambitious team of approximately 35 engineers. The R&D department is located at our office in Brännland (Umeå), Sweden.
As a software design engineer with functional safety focus you will work with software development for our control units through C and possibly model based dev. in MATLAB/Simulink. You will also have a leading role within functional safety throughout the complete development process, ranging from hazard & risk analysis & architecture definition to the final technical file. We have a strong focus on quality and as parts of our control systems are safety critical, tasks related to process development, HW/SW toolchains and documentation should also be expected.
We believe that you have a relevant engineering degree or significant industrial experience within software development for embedded real-time systems. Knowledge and experience within functional safety and relevant standards (regardless of industry) is a requirement. Design experience of control systems according to any of the following standards; ISO 25119, ISO 13849, ISO 26262 or IEC 61508, is wished for. Practical understanding and experience of electronics is also required.
Due to the nature of our products, knowledge and experience of hydraulics, CAN, J1939, software Change Management & MATLAB/Simulink are all merits.
As a person you are self-motivated, possess analytical skills and have an interest in solving technical problems. You have an ability to work on complex assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required to achieve results. You are a social team-player with a positive attitude. We work globally and would therefore like to see that you have international experience. Fluent English is a requirement, if Swedish is not your native language, studies in Swedish in parallel to the employment is required
