If your answer is YES to the above questions, we have several interesting opportunities, this is one of them! We are looking for a Design engineer for Hydrogen Storage Systems (HSS), working with components and systems for solutions requiring hydrogen as fuel
We, at EATS and auxiliaries, are a group of fantastic and dedicated engineers working within several areas, one being hydrogen as fuel, where we work towards tomorrow's zero emission propulsion systems. This is an area where we see will have enormous impact on our machines ' ability to meet and exceed customers' expectations on drivability, machine power and range of operation. As a team, we are growing continuously since we are responsible for several important auxiliary systems needed to reach zero emissions targets. Hydrogen storage is one of these systems and hence we welcome you to be part of this journey!
EATS and auxiliaries are a part of Sustainable Power Systems. At EATS and Auxiliaries, we have the responsibility for development of hardware solutions for hydrogen solutions to all of our construction equipment machines being developed. In EATS and auxiliaries we work with hardware components and systems, but we also do software requirements. We work together with software engineers in an agile team, and as a team we take full responsibility for the complete system with hardware solutions and software control. The scope is the complete development cycle from design and implementation to testing in machines.
What We Offer?
In the role Design engineer- Hydrogen Storage Systems, you will play an important part in the development of solutions for storing hydrogen onboard our machines. You will work in a team involved from the very beginning and throughout the entire project, including the maintenance part when products are launched. Your work in this team, led by a design responsible engineer will be to, e.g.:
Create performance and durability requirements for the components
Specify legal requirements for the components
Make design solutions together with tank or tank system suppliers
Do packaging studies together with design engineers at our Product Platforms
Guide and assist installation work in our different machine applications
Be part of creating verification specifications to ensure customer expectations are met
Be part of product maintenance of the components and systems
The end application is construction equipment machines such as wheel loaders, excavators, and articulated haulers. The work is done in close cooperation with both colleagues within fuel cell development, combustion engines, colleagues within Volvo group with tank solutions for trucks, buses, marin applications, engineers taking care of complete machine development, and purchasing organizations ensuring procurement of solutions.

Who are you?
A curios and enthusiastic engineer with a passion for applying your knowledge in new technology areas where everything is not always defined. The area and competence about the area is being built, simultaneously with the machines using the solutions. At the same time, you understand the importance of finding solutions which can be applied with right quality at right cost and time. As a person, you are true team player. But you can also can work individually within your responsibility area and represent the team.
The job will require that you see possibilities to find common solutions which can be used at multiple end products. In order to succeed we believe you are a mechatronic or mechanical design engineer, who have gained experience from component and system design in a complex and fast moving environment. You have probably, but not necessarily, worked within automotive industry. You can also have worked with design work in other industries. The experiences requested are needed to meet customers and authorities requirements on quality and legal fulfilment for our machines ' hydrogen storage systems
You are analytical, have a structured way of working, and you enjoy being on top of things. Sharing your knowledge with others and understand that the end solution is the result of many different skills is a guiding star for you.
