The section Manual Transmission System is a group within the department Transmission Development, and has the main responsibility to develop transmission parts such as Manual gearboxes, external shift controls and clutch actuations system incl. flywheel, disc and clutch. Our responsibility is to secure system solutions for the future regarding specification and verification and we can see an increased demand within Volvo Car Group with new requirements combined with new challenging questions/technologies. The need for new technology will increase due to possible future need for hybridisation of manual gearboxes. We see an increased demand within Volvo Car Group regarding NVH and shiftability that are in line with our customer's expectations for the future.
As Design Engineer within manual system you have good comprehensive view, both on technical content and what our customers are expecting in the future. You will work within a team with high ambition and focus to improve both product and way of working. As part of our team you will get access to long term development and the possibility to take responsibility in other areas. We will start to develop future shifter solutions and are looking for someone who is willing to take that responsibility together with us.
Main responsibilities
• Design and develop clutch actuations system
• Find solutions with both Swedish and foreign suppliers
• Secure that we have the right technical offer for every project
Required qualifications
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
• Good knowledge in CATIA
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Experience from transmission design is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Good communication and cooperation skills
• Goal orientated
• Positive attitude
