About us and the role

Our work consist of many mind-bending challenges that will prove rewarding and interesting for the technically driven engineer.

As design engineer you will have full responsibility within your area of expertise. As support you have colleagues that provide you with relevant information and knowledge from their areas. Team work capability is an essential success factor for us.

It is Scania's ambition to continue its quick growth in the area of sustainable transports and alternative fuels. To adjust resources for this ambition we need to strengthen our group that has the responsibility to provide Scania with viable and sustainable alternative fuel driven engines.

Our group cover the work areas of predevelopment and concept development all the way to field quality engineering. We have component responsibility for most alternative fuel specific components. The team consists of a small group of experts and covers a broad area of expertise.

Your role

Working as a design engineer in our group means both buying components and designing unique Scania articles for our engines and fuel supply system.

Development of components for alternative fuel engines for commercial vehicles means being at the forefront and in many areas. And pushing the requirements and specifications to their limits without endangering quality or functionality.

Curiosity and thinking outside the box is a necessity but also the ability to balance product properties against each other to create a best in class product for our customers.

* Strong interest in developing environmental friendly engines that can meet our future challenging demands.
* Ability to pay great attention to the small details without losing the holistic perspective.
* Capacity to designing and testing both virtually and physically.
* Experience of compression ignited and/or spark ignited combustion engine development is highly preferential but not mandatory.
* Good communication skills with a customer oriented focus.
* An ambitious mindset and internal drive to support our suppliers, internal and external customers with quick and accurate information.
* A strong dedication to finishing tasks on expected delivery date with the right quality, is taken for granted.

Your assignments will vary over time as we work as a group, sharing the work load.

Right personality and skill set when coming to personal abilities such as effectiveness and personal drive can easily make up for any lack of prior engine expertise.

We believe you have a masters degree or equal in the area of mechanical engineering or physics.

Come join us in making our next generation clean combustion engines having less emission pollutants.
