Job Description:
Together with the Design Engineers in a Cross-Functional Team, contribute to meet all Volvo's requirements for Technical Documentation in Early and Late Stages of Projects.
You will continuously educate in and inform about new standards and instruction affecting the design work.
The work will include co-operation with Volvo Corporate Standard Department and Volvo suppliers. The main task for a Design checker is to make sure the quality of technical documentation, according to corporate rules. Design checker is the leader and trainer to secure engineers competence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
Personal skills:
Technical interest and experience in design checking. We see it as a big plus if you are familiar with Volvo Engineering Systems and Processes. Experience from Product Development, in specific Powertrain Components is considered as an advantage. Knowledge in written and spoken English is an important key to be able to communicate successfully in this role. Furthermore, we believe that you have a proven ability to work in multi-cultural teams.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master of Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience from engineering work within the automotive industry.
Knowledge of Pro/E & PDMLink is a valuable asset.

Teamwork: Building cooperation among individuals and departments, sharing information and resources, and working to achieve group goals and outcomes.

Attention to Detail: Monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on. Patience to work with repetitive tasks is an advantage for this position.
Problem Solving/Decision Making: Taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles or resistance. Continuity in the performance is a skill we highly appreciate.
