Want to be part of transforming road freight - for good? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, electric and autonomous technologies. Through freight capacity as a service, we enable businesses around the world to accelerate towards their sustainability goals.
Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a US public road. Today our award-winning technology has been launched across 8 countries (and counting). Our clients are some of the world's biggest shippers, including Fortune 500 companies. We are also operating Sweden's largest truck dedicated public charging network and counting.
We are seeking a driven and competent leader for a full-time interim assignment as the Deputy Head of Autonomous Drive. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization, planning, execution, and delivery of Einride Autonomous Technologies' cutting-edge Autonomous Driving Stack. This assignment requires strong leadership to set the technical vision and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, innovative environment, supporting the Acting Head of Autonomous Drive.
You will:
Lead the strategic development and implementation of our autonomous transport solutions.
Directly lead and mentor your team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Be accountable for the planning, design, implementation, test, verification, and validation of the production-ready Autonomous Stack. The activities covered all applicable steps in the development lifecycle.
Define and evolve the software architecture to ensure alignment with long-term product goals and technical scalability.
Drive technical excellence, optimize processes, and scale and develop teams efficiently.
Oversee all aspects of autonomous software development, including research and implementation of next-generation advancements.
Optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and simulation-based verification methodologies.

We expect you to have:
A masters degree in Engineering or an equivalent field
Previous experience in leading engineering teams
Proven ability to operate as a leader at both the strategic and execution level, with high demands on:
Leadership and Team Building: Demonstrate strong, effective leadership, including significant experience in people management and the ability to build and motivate teams, specifically managing direct reports.
Technical Vision: The ability to set and clearly communicate a compelling technical vision for the Autonomous Driving Stack.
Execution & Interaction: Strong execution capability and the ability to interact effectively across relevant cross-functional departments and teams.
Risk & Stakeholder Communication: Proficiency in risk management and effective communication with stakeholders.
Complete fluency in English is required for communication with international stakeholders and internal teams.

This is a full-time position based in Gothenburg, although we are open to remote for the right candidates. You will be part of a truly diverse, high performing team with a common passion for sustainability and making things happen in an innovative way. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.
At Einride, we are innovators, building solutions the world has never seen before - but urgently needs. That's why we take action, and it's why we are always eager to be challenged. We know that our best innovations come from having a diverse mix of people, including those of different experiences, career paths, and walks of life. By coming together and sharing our perspectives openly - by disagreeing, discussing, and committing - we deliver greater impact.
