Deputy Chief Accountant
Full time - based in the Stockholm Head Office
Reporting to
Chief Accountant
Purpose
The Deputy Chief Accountant's mission is to support & cover the Chief Accountant in running the financial accounting function
Key Responsibilities
• TEAM MANAGEMENT
Support the Chief Accountant in all professional issues and cover the Chief Accountant during absence
Training and supporting a team of Accountants: all technical and personnel aspects.
Overall responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of all Financial Information.
• ADMINISTRATION PROJECTS
Organisation and monitoring of potential administration projects
Review and validation of all accounting manuals and suggestions for updates and amendments as necessary;
Designing and monitoring internal controls on all aspects of the Finance department.
• ACCOUNTING
Operative responsibility for the full monthly closing Inditex Nordics
Coordinating cross-company tasks during closing and supporting the team in solving ad-hoc problems
Management of IFRS 16: Maintenance of SAP Real Estate , Analysing lease agreements and ensure correct accounting treatment (e.g. rent reviews, business rates), Liaising with Legal and Property Director, coordinating with Headquarters
Monthly monitoring of Financial closings packages, including Interco, Consolidation packages and BPC reporting.
• VAT/INTRASTAT
VAT and INTRASTAT declarations;
Preparation of data for yearly tax computation;
Other tax or National Statistics reports
• INVOICES APPROVAL
Responsible for the review and approval of all invoices related to Property (rent, service charge, insurance, business rates), resolving complex cases with the Property and/or Legal Director
Operative responsibility for the processes of invoices and back up in case of absent in the AP / Treasury team
Experience and Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years experience in Financial Accounting, ideally in the retail industry.
• ACA / ACCA or equivalent of advantage
Skills and Attitudes
• Fluent in English
• Aptitude for figures
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with a team
• Solid accounting knowledge expected
• Aptitude for working with Excel
• Flexible
