hela Sverige We are looking for a dynamic and dependable Department Manager to lead our System Design Department to ensure our sustained position as the industry leader for Power Quality solutions.
You will be part of FACTS Global Engineering management team which also includes Functional Integration and Electromechanical Integration. In this role, close cooperation with other functions like R&D, Sales, Operations and Supply Management is critical.
The department supports R&D activities as well as development of our technical platform and has around 30 engineers split into three groups with responsibility for System Optimization and Design as well as System Studies in both tenders and projects. Your team is highly multinational with more than ten different nationalities in the group. In addition to people development in your own team, you will be responsible for development of our sister department in India as well as a small team in North America.
We are in a transition phase both with regard to technology, processes and market. Technology enablers like model based design, digitalization and artificial intelligence are critical success factors going forward. In addition, safety and integrity are always on top of our agenda.
Global Engineering is responsible to support FACTS projects all over the world, and we need to be industry leader when it comes to technology, processes and tools.
In terms of education requirements, you hold an MScEE: Master of Electrical Engineering or similar degree, or have the equivalent work experience.
In an environment of change, active listening skills and openness to new ideas will be critical for the Department Manager, parallel to delivering operative results.

As a leader you are comfortable and effective in coaching and developing others. You have strong stress tolerance and can hold under pressure.
English is the predominant working language in the team and at ABB; therefore you must have excellent English language skills, both oral and written, and fluency in an additional language provides added value.
