The IT Architecture and development department in EMEA consist of approximately 200 employees and 130 external consultants. The department consist of a number of consultant groups focusing on a set of Technology and Business domain criteria and provide services to the whole delivery organization. The consultant managers reporting to the department manager IT Architecture and development are spread geographically in the Region.
Department Manager - IT Architecture and Development
As Department Manager IT Architecture and development you will have responsibility for leading and developing a regional competence based IT consulting organization according to defined processes. You will drive the organization through line management who will deliver professional services up on request from Volvo Group IT community .
You will report to the Director of IT Consulting Region EMEA.
Role Mission & Context
As the Department Manager IT Architecture and development you will own a specific part of the IT Consulting business from a consulting supply perspective and act with the below mission and context:
• Lead, inspire and develop the regional IT consulting competence organization to provide IT consultants for professional roles like IT architects & Developers.
• Secure that your organization develops and performs, in line with the IT consulting strategy, the IT Consulting competence & career model and individual preferences.
• Manage, lead and motivate the IT Architecture and development Region EMEA Management team.
• Create and continuous develop a pool of talents
• As Department Manager IT Architecture and development EMEA you will be a member of the IT Consulting EMEA Management Team.
• Promote and drive the continued journey of implementing our standardized ways of working
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the IT Architecture and development EMEA organization and consultants
• Overall accountable for the IT Architecture and development deliveries/activities (onboarding, quality, assignment satisfaction) within the region
• Responsible for securing staffing in line with business needs and the individual consultants development plans
• Secure adherence to business processes, policy and guidelines within the IT Consulting region EMEA for as well management team as IT consultants in assignments.
• Strategic and tactical personnel planning, for the organization, operational plan in the areas of Process compliance, budget & KPI setting and follow up
• Develop consultants process skills for delivery units of Group IT
• Evaluation of team members' performance. Coach and evaluate performance to reach individual targets and follow up performance.
• Be an IT Consulting role model in terms of wanted culture and behaviour and drive culture development
• Ensure that people have a supporting working environment in which people perform
• Line manager responsibilities such as, manage recruitment and retention of direct reports, prioritization of issues/activities in your department

Required Competencies
• Genuine interest for developing and coaching people
• Excelled track record in leading virtual teams, collaboration with different cultures and geographical regions
• Strong experience from IT consulting & IT Architecture and development
• Solid experience from working in a IT delivery organization
• Excellent communication & presentation skills are a requirement.
• Complete proficiency in English is a requirement
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other equivalent education
