At the department Connected Systems (EC), 100+ R&D wizards work with enabling solutions all the way from the vehicle mounted telematics unit, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud.
Connectivity in general is all about Data. Data in large volumes in a flexible and usable way is a key success factor for organisations that want to survive the digital shift. Scania today have over 400 000 (and counting) vehicles and other products connected online. The department is looking for a Development Engineer to strengthen the departments possibility to collaborate and deliver the overall connectivity- & IoT platform. We need efficient tools, methods, standards and ways-of-working in order to become a highly productive organisation.
What you will do
Now the fun part! You will be working within a team called "Delivery Engineering" and find new tools and methods in order to release the complete energy of the organisation. You will work with all development teams in the department, and also cooperate extensively with other Scania departments.
Your main tasks will be to detect and resolve pain points, supporting all application development teams in the organisation. You love finding new ways to enable fully agile development teams to collaborate in a perfect efficient context.
Who you are
You are a Development Engineer with Software Engineering experience. You think in terms of improvements and best practices. You have worked with different development tools/services/techniques such as AWS, Git, gitlab-ci, Docker, CI/CD, tools for Static code analysis. You see the bigger picture and you enjoy sharing your view with others. Agile development, the SAFe framework, continuous deployment and large scale integrations are to you well known and appreciated techniques.
You most likely have a formal engineering degree in software, electrical or computer science, or the equivalent experience. Knowledge in the areas of cloud/ IoT/ connectivity and/or the electrical system of (heavy) vehicles is a great advantage in this role.
