Deep Learning Engineer
Volvo Car Group aims for leadership in Automated Driving and Active Safety. Self-driving vehicles is the next important step in Volvo Car Group's development of the world's safest cars. The mission is to develop world-leading active safety systems, including self-driving vehicles and be an important contributor to the Volvo Cars vision that by nobody should be seriously injured or killed in new Volvo cars. The department Active Safety is responsible all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers. We are strongly focused on our vision to make cars that do not crash
Active Safety department consist of over 300 engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of Active & Passive Safety, Autonomous Drive and Vehicle Dynamics systems and functions.
Within this area, are we now recruiting Deep Learning Engineers. You and the team will have a close collaboration with colleagues within 94400 but also the Deep Learning Research & Development Tech Centre in San Francisco with focus on exploring and utilizing new technologies within Automated Drive and Active Safety.

Volvo Cars is looking for creative and innovative individuals who wants to be a member in the team developing the next generation's Volvo cars.
Main responsibilities
* You will support the development of new interesting proof of concepts within the field of Autonomous drive and ADAS.
* You will work with the development (designing, training, analyzing and evaluating) of Deep Learning networks and Computer Vision algorithms that will enable our cars to understand complex environments based on input from multiple sensor modalities e.g. cameras, radars, Lidars's and ultrasonic sensors.
* Work cross functional in a pragmatic way to achieve success as a team.
Required qualifications:
* M.Sc/PhD in Electrical Engineering /Computer Science /Physics or equivalent practical experience
* Excellent mathematical skills and a good understanding with applied physics.
* Applied knowledge within Deep Learning development and architectures associated with Deep learning. Preferably within computer vision related applications.
* Good knowledge within Computer Vision
* Proven experience with Deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe,
* Fluency in Python and/or C/C++
* Experience with Open GL/Open CL
* Experience in working with software development in embedded real time systems
* Knowledge about vision sensors such as camera, LIDARs, etc.
