hela Sverige 1.Database kernel Architect will be responsible for leading the architecture, design and implementation of a cutting-edge database kernel specifically designed for large-scale OLTP and OLAT systems.
2.Database Kernel Senior Software Developers will be responsible for development and implementation of the cutting-edge database kernel.
Database Kernel Architecture work focuses on lower layers of the software stack: operating systems and storage system, hardware adaptation, high availability database and middleware, O&M.
We are looking for experts on Database Kernel Architecture domain to work on the large-scale, high availability, high performance OLTP database and OLAP database technology & architecture, requirements, migration possibilities and implementation guidance. Topics of interest include:
OLTP database in particular for telecom application and enterprise information system
OLAP database and business intelligence in general for enterprise information system
Relational Database, highly scalable database service, etc
Last scale distributed database architectures
World class distributed system expertise, include clustered system, distributed database, distributed computing, distributed storage, etc.
Hardware adaptation techniques such as new storage hardware
Enterprise IT Middleware
Database related O&M and database related tools chain
Quality Assurance, application integration / optimization
Within the scope of your areas of expertise and responsibility you will:
In collaboration with China R&D, architect database for our telecom and enterprise use cases. Focus areas are listed above
Steer and coordinate related R&D activities with our R&D in China
Perform business analysis and technical risk evaluation of proposed designs/solutions
Present the proposed solution to our R&D decision makers
Have dialogue with customers and inject customer feedback to corresponding stakeholders
Actively contribute to relevant operating system related fora like Linux Foundation, contribute to standardization activities and file IPRs
Perform business and technical planning
Requirements & Qualifications (domain specific, partial qualifications taken into account)
Master or higher degree in computer science, software architectures, or equivalent required
Database Kernel Architect specific: Over 3~5 years of research, design or implementation experience in the Relational DBMS product, minimum of 8 years working experience in IT vendors, research bodies or universities
Demonstrated experience in database internals with focus on large-scale data processing.
Familiar with open source or commercial database, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, M DB2, Sybase, etc;
Direct experience with an open source database (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL) kernel development is an advantage; Open source committer experience are more prefer.
Good knowledge of database theory, ACID mode as well as distributed systems
Proven experience delivering successful products through the full product lifecycle.
Strong operating system internals knowledge
Fluent in English (written and spoken); German and/or Chinese would be a plus
Worldwide short-term travels are required
Excellent intercultural communication and coordination skills
