As Klarna grows it becomes increasingly important to effectively manage and analyze large amounts of data. Our Business Intelligence Department (BI) is in the startup phase of a large, comprehensive, BI project which ultimately aims to help the organization to monitor and analyze the operation at Klarna in an efficient manner in order to explore new business opportunities and make decision-making easier. An important part of the project is to build a new database which will consist of information that is to be easy accessed for the organization to take part of.
Job description:
You will have a free role with many responsibilities, you should for example be able to take on both the role as an administrator as well as an architect since you will be the only one in the team who masters the knowledge of those areas.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing the database design, you will also be in charge of the integrity of the data. The challenge for you will be to build a database from scratch that is tailor-designed to fit our business needs. The database will be our help when it comes to analyze and understand our business which will be done for example by analyzing our merchants, our end customers' buying habits, and by a variety of cost-benefit analyses.
In this role we would like to see someone who, obviously, wants to be constantly in contact with the business and its representatives and who wants to participate in development projects. We also prefer someone who has experience from various environments / tools. We look for people who have the ability to get things done on the basis of a vague requirement specification.
Furthermore, we see that you have experience with performance optimization, troubleshooting and other elements that are associated with daily operations. Since today's pilot is built on PostgreSQL, we also desire you to have good knowledge of PL / PG SQL.
Your technical skills:
You have very good knowledge of database design
You are familiar with Linux
You have, preferably, experience of working in an Agile development environment (Kanban, Scrum, XP. etc.)
You have a very good ability to understand business needs and translate those into database design
You have a very good ability to discuss technical aspects with the developers
You, preferably, have a Master of Science degree, a systems analyst degree, or similar
Meritorious:
You have experience from the financial sector
You have knowledge in Erlang
