About the position:
ELITS is now searching for a highly skilled IT expert to fill a role as a Database Administrator in Lund. As a Database Administrator you will be running operation, database-related projects, do database administration as well as database service and change management working in complex environments and international team.
The tasks are divided to both individual and work in projects. You will be a part of a team spans across several sites in Sweden, Germany, China, USA and Canada. Work during weekends may occur.
The extent of this role is initially set to 50%(20 hours/week). However for the right person there will be possibilities of making your ELITS employment full-time.
Qualifications:
You are expected to have years of working experience with database administration, preferably in large enterprise organizations. You have experience working with incidents, problems, IT orders, requests, changes and releases and are excellent in English. Experience of ITIL is an advantage.
It is important that you can handle critical server solutions, and at the same time have a professional attitude, be able to organize your tasks and handle stressful situations. As an operation technician you should have a great interest in technology, be motivated by complex assignments, have the ability to visualize the customer needs and strong trouble shooting skills.
Required experience and knowledge
• Knowledge about SQL Server Cluster operations.
• SQL Server installation and software upgrades.
• Implementing SQL database environments.
• Database troubleshooting
• Monitoring databases and SQL Server (performance tuning, database storage, memory, CPU, network usage, and I/O contention).
• Backup/Restore/Recovery strategies.
• Security, (application access to database structures).
• SQL Server performance tuning (analyze queries and indexes and do required updates).
• Replication (Transactional).
• Linked Servers.
• Good knowledge about TSQL.
• SQL Server Jobs.
• SOAP for SQL server 2008
