Presentation
We are looking for a database administrator for our Service Management team. We are mainly working with Oracle databases, but also MySQL. The position and core team is located in Stockholm, although a lot of interaction is needed with our team members globally, mainly in India. You will be one of the key players in administering our databases, setting up new solutions, performance tuning and influencing the long-term strategy of the data layer. Taking ownership is equally important to leading change.
Publiceringsdatum2008-10-28Dina arbetsuppgifterYou will work with operations involving and maintenance of the IPX database systems, making sure that the high capacity and availability requirements on the databases are met. You will also participate in development projects, with a database perspective, working very closely with the R&D team on new designs.
The work is dynamic and varied with many opportunities to make your own decisions and create guiding principles as well as processes. You should have several years of experience in this area and have a strong will to drive this field of responsibility and ownership.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You should have the following experience:
• at least five years of experience of working with, and an excellent understanding of, Oracle databases
• knowledge of and experience in performance tuning
• experience of Oracle's high-availability solutions, particularly Dataguard and RAC
• a very good understanding of, and experience in, Linux environments, particularly Redhat
• expert knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
• a good knowledge of Linux shell scripting
• fluency in English both in writing and speaking.
Experience of MySQL and knowledge of Java are also an advantage. The successful candidate must be a team player and an excellent problem solver with a strong drive. Taking personal responsibility for your assigned tasks and being creative in suggesting improvements are a must. The successful candidate should also be able to communicate with people from other cultural backgrounds.
You should also have the following qualifications:
• a Master of Science or other academic degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
