One amazing cross functional team (IT and engineering) of 13 persons in the Smart Factory. You will become part of the team that drives the digitalization journey from the IT perspective while having fun in and outside the lab. We collaborate extensively with internal and external parties to identify current and future business needs within the Smart Factory domain. We use an agile approach to develop Proof of Concepts, which we evaluate in our Smart Lab facility and hand them over to an implementation team based on their feasibility. We consciously cooperate with other teams within Scania & the Volkswagen group all over the world with similar goals and competences.

Your role as Data Scientist
You will work closely with different departments to understand their business needs and frame those needs as statistical problems. You will then develop and maintain machine learning solutions in close cooperation with the business and other team members. As part of the Centre of Excellence, you will also advocate for a data-driven culture within the company and push long-term value creation through the development of outstanding data science capabilities.
At the smart factory we also hold demos to showcase where we are working, so you will also present your results to our visitors to inspire them.
Your profile
To thrive with us, we think you are an analytical, curious, and solution-oriented team player. You have good model evaluation skills and confirmed communication, and storytelling skills with the ability to connect across a variety of audiences. You also have experience from working with business process owners to design, develop, document, test and implement solutions.
We Also See That You Have
• MSc or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Strong coding skills in Python and good knowledge of relevant frameworks.
• Solid visualization skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Supply chain experience is a merit.
