AMRA is a ground-breaking international digital health company at the forefront of medical imaging and precision medicine. AMRA was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of Linköping University, Sweden, with the aim to support transformative care and vital decision-making, from clinical research to health and wellness. Today we are 55 employees, operating in the US, European and Asian market, with the need to expand further.
The company has developed a new global standard in body composition assessment, the ability to automatically produce multiple fat and muscle biomarkers with unrivaled precision and accuracy, as well as contextual disease insights - all from a single whole-body MRI.
We work with the world's leading pharma companies and academic hospitals.
Job assignments
In your role as data scientist at AMRA you will work within the Clinical science department, initially with a focus performing research within the CoMorMent project, an EU funded project where AMRA is investigating how body composition relates to comorbidities in neuropsychiatric disorders.
The work involves large scale data analysis relating body composition imaging data to metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurological disorders. You will work with multiple data sources including UK Biobank, the world's largest biobank project including MR imaging.
As data scientist in the clinical science department, you will work in a small multidisciplinary team of experts in various therapeutic areas. You will have the possibility to grow within this role and take on more customer facing responsibilities over time.
The majority of the team in the clinical science department is located in Linköping, Sweden. However, this position is not required to be based in Linköping as we are open to distance working. Travelling expectations are up to 5 days a month.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational mathematics, or similar skills. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in medical research and/or medical imaging research. A good track record in writing scientific papers is required. Experience with GWAS analysis is also valuable.
As we collaborate with colleagues and customers all over the world you need to be fluent in both spoken and written English.
In this role you need to be able to work independently as well as collaborate well while maintaining a realistic perspective on complex situations. You are driven, organized and prioritize your work effectively to stay focused on the right things to achieve longer term goals.
What do we offer?
We offer a stimulating workplace with satisfying work tasks, highly knowledgeable colleagues, and opportunities to make a difference. We are a young company that has a strong scientific foundation, now building a worldwide market presence. As part of our team, you will get an opportunity to contribute to a healthier world. We are a growing team of high performers from around the world. We are a flat organization with open dialogue and climate, where you will have the opportunity to influence and grow.
