Pharmaceutical Sciences at AstraZeneca is developing a digital transformation strategy to drive innovation, optimization of the drug development process and data-driven decision making. Are you a highly skilled and motivated scientists that would like to specialise in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) within the Pharmaceutical Sciences function? Then you might be interested in a role as Data scientist in Pharmaceutical Science placed in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Who are you? We think that you who will accept the challenge have a PhD in a relevant area e.g. computational chemistry, data science, materials science, mathematics or similar. You have strong knowledge about chemoinformatic toolkits, good understanding of chemistry and/or material science and a strong track record of programming in Python and machine learning toolkits. At AstraZeneca you will fit right in if you thrive on team work, networking, communication and the ability to influence both people and science.

This means recognizing opportunities to utilise AI & ML to generate knowledge and innovation and work alongside scientific experts to design projects to optimize underlying data structure. The role will focus on data extraction, analysis and capture strategies to support data-driven decision making. As the lead Data Scientist in Data Science and Modelling department you will maintain awareness of state -of-the art applications of AI and engage with AstraZeneca leadership to design and influence strategic decisions.
