Our vision is "a world without sizes, where every body fits." With top brand and retail partners across the world including New Balance, Fleet Feet, XXL, The Athlete's Foot, Red Wing Shoes, Intersport and Crocs, our footprint spans 3000+ stores across 58 countries, and growing! To date, we've gathered more than 60 million foot scans.
Our online product enables e-commerce sites to help their shoppers find the best-fitting footwear through our size-guiding tool. The product has experienced rapid growth and is now being used by almost 100,000 shoppers every month. This means we have to quickly leverage data insights, both to show how we impact our customers' KPIs, as well as to learn about our end users so we can keep iterating and improving our product.
Who you will work with
We are working in cross-functional product teams with a strong product development focus. Our team values collaboration, creativity, and a passion for innovation. We have an inclusive environment where everyone's ideas are heard and respected. Every team member has strong agency and is expected to have a holistic mindset on what needs to be done. Our work environment thrives when there is open, respectful discussion and the best (data-driven) ideas win.
If you like being part of the early stages of product development and working alongside technically skilled and motivated colleagues, this is your opportunity.
What you will work on
Our goal is to enable shoppers to simplify their purchasing decisions online, help them find the best size, and in the end decrease fit-related returns. To measure the impact and improve our product we collect a lot of different data points, some of which are:
How shoppers use our product, and where they drop off, as well as ask for feedback on the experience.
Mobile scans and fit preferences to generate footwear recommendations.
Orders and returns from our customers to be able to measure the impact of the product, like conversion and return rates.
As a Data Scientist within our online product making sense of this data will be one of your primary objectives. And, in close collaboration with the Product Manager and the whole team, you will:
Translate data into actionable insights, for your team and our customers.
Promote a data-driven mindset within the team, defining priorities and guiding best practices when it comes to methodology and technology.
Develop dashboards and visualize key metrics to help our customers understand how we impact their business.
Design, conduct, and evaluate A/B tests to improve the user experience.
Maintain and evolve our data pipelines.
Tackle a variety of exciting challenges as we grow!
Some of the tools you will be using to accomplish this are BigQuery, SQL, Dataform, Python, and Amplitude. We run our products on Google Cloud Platform.
We are excited about you because:
A self-motivated and collaborative team member.
Curious and passionate about solving challenging problems.
Open to teaching others and learning new things.
Keen to work in a caring scale-up environment.
We expect you to:
Have strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Be a self-starter who can independently manage initiatives and drive them forward.
Have a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, physics, statistics, or similar.
Be able to communicate complex insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Be proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis.
Bonus - Not required but nice to have, absolutely let us know if you have experience with any of the following:
Have 2+ years of professional experience working as a data scientist/engineer.
You have experience with e-commerce platforms, optimizing site performance and user experience through analyzing key business metrics.
You have worked with data pipeline tools like Dataform, DBT, or similar.
You have experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
What we can offer you:
Personal learning budget and access to coaching
Opportunity to work with a great team of 20+ nationalities in our English-speaking office
Occupational pension at ITP1 level
Flexible Public Holidays Policy
Options Program
Parental pay top-up

Join Volumental and be part of a team that's transforming the footwear industry with data-driven solutions. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on our product and our customers' success while growing your skills in a supportive environment.
