Production Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 750 employees, globally connected to deliver logistics solutions with world class operational excellence. We ensure that transportation is purchased, packaging is made available at our suppliers, material is transported to our production facilities, and vehicles are distributed to our customers on time. We design and optimize the Production Logistics supply chain for the Volvo Group, prepare logistics for new products and drive the Sales & Operations Planning process. End to End Production Logistics drive the strategy process and development to build a high performing integrated end-to-end production logistics supply chain. Furthermore we are responsible for, Supply Chain Analytics, One Information Chain, Industrial Plan, Quality & Environment and the interface to the business areas for Production Logistics. The position Supply Chain Data Scientist works in close cooperation with the Supply Chain Analytics Manager and reports to VP End to End Production Logistics.

Main responsibilities
Apply a scientific mind-set and engineering skills in analyzing large volumes of complex data
Secure technical infrastructure for the organization to increase the analytical capabilities, including extractions of relevant data
Build and execute analytical models to support the statistical, tactical and operational part of the organization in proactive decision making based on internal and external data
Explore and suggest areas to apply RPA, machine learning, AI, data modeling, optimization, creating algoritms etc.
You are heavily contributing to our journey to evolve analytics in the production supply chain context. As we aim to increase the data literacy in the full organization you would be an important ambassador of advanced analytics.

Experience
A degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related area
You have 4-5 years' experience working with advanced analytics, machine learning and optimization
Experience performing analysis with large datasets
Experience from Microsoft analytics cloud
Relevant programming experience (e.g. Python, R, etc)
A background in logistics either from a theoretical view or hands on is a merit but not a requirement
