hela Sverige By using data and simulations created in product development, and connect this to actual customer usage, we can truly optimize our vehicle platforms, and the method for this is Multi-Criteria Optimization.
In our department Vehicle Concepts, Analysis & AE, we are evolving and optimizing Transport Solutions through vehicle concepts and performance evaluation.
Our team, Vehicle Performance and Analytics strive to Close-the-Loop by connecting our early product development with actual customer and vehicle statistics. By use of Data Analytics we identify the needed differentiation of Product Solutions that provide vehicle configurations with well-balanced Performance Steps to our customers.
The Global Transport Application (GTA) and Strategic Vehicle Specifications (SVS) are developed and used by our team as key enablers to work closely with a network of professionals to simulate the performance of our vehicles and platforms.
The team is fairly new, and we have ambitions to both maintain our current deliveries with distinction, while at the same time, step by step close in on our even more ambitious vision of being able to analyze any given vehicle specification for its performance, from early concept evaluations to final verification.
We need now to reinforce our team with one Data Scientist - Multi-Criteria Optimization
Task and Responsibilities:
In the role of Data Scientist, you will put your brain at work by exploring and connecting sales data, simulations and the skills and expertise of our colleagues, and use this to steer the focus of our product development efforts, making sure we use data to decide where to focus, and where not to.
You will be responsible to autonomously and flexibly carry out advanced analytics in multiple domains and environments, to extract knowledge and/or predict future events.
We also want you to explore ideas to create new opportunities, not yet asked for.
You will work with experienced experts and in close cooperation with the product development organization but also many other organizations around us.
Strengthen the usage of optimization technique in the product development
Perform Multi Criteria Optimization studies and provide recommendations to our product owners
Further develop the analysis & analytics framework and related methods
Being part of developing strategies & road maps for Platform Efficiency and Vehicle Performance evaluations
Be active in networks within the Volvo Group and externally
As the area of MCO is quite wide (understatement!), the focus of the role will need to be matched with the skill-set of the person getting the position.

Requirements
MSc/PhD in a relevant technical field
Several years of experience in at least one of the following fields: simulation, data analytics, product modeling
Excellent Product Knowledge
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
