What we offer
We are looking for one or two experienced data protection specialists to join our Data Protection team, an important part of Group Legal & Corporate Governance.

The team focuses on supporting the Volvo Cars global business organisation in their efforts to build state of the art premium cars while redesigning the entire consumer experience and creating competitive online offers with our customers' needs in the centre.

This involves collection and processing of a lot of data about our cars and customers and as a human-centric company we are truly committed to do so with great respect toward each customer and their right to privacy.

You will be a an integral member of our global network of Data Protection experts and a key player in our efforts in making sure we adhere to applicable legislation and our own high ethical standards, while enabling data-driven customer interactions, operations and development of products and services.

You will work in a truly innovative, dynamic and international environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders in supporting new business initiatives and Volvo Cars' transformation journey. In this role, you will lead data protection implementation activities and be the link between the legal counsel and the business, operationalizing legal advice and providing practical guidance.

Your passion for data protection matters will be of great help establishing and building strong, long-term working relationships with key business stakeholders, helping them understand the importance of incorporating data protection into their areas of expertise.

You will also get the chance to dive into the details of things, including collecting, mapping and analysing information required for data protection assessments, compliance checks and audits and you will support in negotiating various types of data processing agreements.

Last but not least, you will support the creation and enhancement of the Global Data Protection Office Program processes and guidelines and regularly train various stakeholders, driving ongoing awareness initiatives within the business. You will get to bring your creative ideas on how to make data protection as cool in the eyes of others as it is for us, test them out and implement those that work best. All of this, together with a great team of data protection colleagues who very much look forward to welcoming you!

You will ideally be based in Gothenburg (HQ), although we may consider locating one of the roles in Stockholm. You will report to the Global Head of Data Protection Operations.

Who you are
You really like data protection and come to work each day eager to learn new things, including both data protection and business-related topics. You thrive in fast-paced changing environments and love working with ambitious and kind people with various backgrounds and skills.

You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in the implementation of data protection requirements, ideally holding a professional qualification such as ECPC-B DPO or CIPP). Hands-on experience working within a digital or research and development environment is preferred, but not essential.

You have a strong ability to lead and operationalise data protection compliance, and are capable of managing a diverse workload. You are an engaged and forward-thinking individual, defining and solving problems that require careful analysis and good judgement - this is something you excel at and thrive on.

Furthermore, you are a team player with great communication skills, tailoring your approach to different audiences and clearly presenting facts, information and explanations.

Join us and be part of this exciting and ambitious journey into the future!
