We are searching for a Data Protection Officer to champion data protection culture and compliance at Epidemic Sound. You will form a key part of the Operational Compliance team and have the opportunity to work closely with the entire organization, both strategically and operationally. You will monitor our data practices and ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations with support from data protection specialists in the legal department and compliance managers. Although we are a global company, this position will be based in our Stockholm office.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring compliance and conducting internal audits within the framework of applicable laws and regulation (such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)).
• Together with other teams and internal stakeholders maintaining, creating and implementing practices around data protection and security.
• Developing and conducting awareness raising activities, delivered to all levels of technical & legal proficiency.
• Researching and keeping up to date on new requirements from a regulatory and compliance point of view.
• Act as the main point of contact in relation to supervisory authorities.
We believe that the ideal candidate is/has:
• 2 to 5 years experience of working with data protection matters, ideally with experience from data analytics or as a DPO (or similar role) in a tech company with focus on analytical data processing.
• Integrity with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - not afraid to speak up, combined with great ability to listen and give pragmatic, actionable advice.
• A solid understanding of the cybersecurity and IT industry (you will be working closely with security engineers and will need to understand basic security concepts).
• Fluent in English, written and oral.
