Would you like to contribute to the safer use of medicines globally? We are looking for a Data Manager to join our Signal Management team. You will help advance the science of pharmacovigilance by exploring the risks of medicines.

UMC was founded in 1978 to improve the safety of medicines globally and our mission remains the same. We are a WHO Collaborating Centre, and work closely with WHO in our pursuit of global safety monitoring of medicinal products.

The Signal Management team is a highly ambitious group with an eye for detail when monitoring, detecting, and assessing new potential safety signals. We maintain and analyse the WHO global database of individual case safety reports of suspected adverse drug reactions. These 30 million individual case safety reports have been submitted by national pharmacovigilance centres across the world which are members of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring.

The Signal Management team is looking for a data manager to work with us. Your main task will be to analyse and make descriptive reports of data for a variety of projects connected to potential safety signals and the safety of medicinal products. You will work closely with pharmacists and physicians in the team. In the Signal Management team, we also collaborate with the UMC Research department in the development of new pharmacovigilance and data management tools, as well as with other departments within UMC.
We are looking for a person who:

- has an eye for detail
- has strong analytical capability and interest
- is a team player who enjoys working with others in solving problems
- has excellent oral and written skills in English
- enjoys scientific writing

It is an advantage if you:

- have experience of medical data analysis or pharmacovigilance
- are accustomed in data handling and descriptive analysis of data
- like to work on different projects
- have an academic education, preferably within the life sciences
