External Supply and Manufacture (ESM) supports the Operations strategy by establishing and managing suppliers across the world that meet our global standards. Through external suppliers, the team manages approximately one third of AstraZeneca's value of production. ESM plays a key role in ensuring the external supply chains are robust and deliver value to AstraZeneca through driving continuous improvement.



The team also supports New Product Introduction through external supply, plays a pivotal role in integrating companies and products that AstraZeneca acquires and bringing innovation through supply chain programmes e.g. Market Access



AZ bold ambition and Ops2025 strategy will be transforming our business across the enterprise, enabled by innovation and Digital. In ESM this will be delivered through a strong Digital, Data analytics & Systems (DDS) capability, work is needed to ensure maturity of this capability in line with wider Operations and AZ in general.



The role of the Data Management Manager is a key member of the DDS leadership team and is to lead the implementation of the Data strategy and ensure data governance across ESM in line with DDS strategy.



What you'll do

*

Deliver agreed Data Management strategy through your team in line with the DDS strategy
*

Line management of the team including performance management, coaching and support
*

Develop clear Data Principles and standards for managing master data to support the DDS plan and develop a governance structure to ensure adherence to these standards across ESM
*

Have a continuous improvement mindset and implement master data process improvements - lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
*

Drive standardisation, cross-process alignment of decisions and develop the processes
*

Develop business cases for key initiatives in the Data Management team, create clear plans for delivering the changes and get approval from relevant sponsors for execution
*

Develop and execute Data Science capability across all ESM teams
*

Ensure and advocate the need for process harmonization and use of global standards within ESM
*

BPO for Data management and SoX Data Process Owner in ESM
*

Lead the development of future ESM Data processes, and/or reengineering of existing processes for Data management in line with Global standards and best in class principles
*

Ensure adherence to set standards across ESM and manage gaps with relevant stakeholders in and outside ESM
*

Identify improvement opportunities in existing processes and develops business cases including input to gap analysis and business process procedures.
*

Build process capability on Data standards across ESM teams to drive organisational maturity in the Data science
*

Represent ESM on various global programmes e.g. digital transformation, enterprise data analytics, regional process forums



Essential skills & experience

*

Education requirements: a BS degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken in to account
*

Experience of operating in a global environment
*

Change management and problem solving
*

Significant supply chain understanding and knowledge
*

Experience in leading cross functional and cross-cultural teams
*

Line management experience with a track record of coaching and developing people
*

Experience of managing complexity and high levels of change
*

Compliance awareness (SOX, Quality, Product security, etc).
*

ERP / Planning systems (e.g. SAP ECC, S4/HANA, APO, APS etc)
*

Good communication and Issue management skills

Experience of contract manufacturing organisations
*

Experience of developing business cases
*

Experience of Pharmaceutical industry
*

Knowledge of GMP and FDA regulations involving data management and validation requirements.
*

Business Acumen especially experience in BPM, LEAN and Quality Assurance Processes
