We are looking for a Data Integration professional to join our Digital Solutions and Data Innovation team within the Imaging and Data Analytics department of Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Sciences at one of AstraZeneca's vibrant R&D sites; preferably in Gothenburg, Sweden, however Barcelona, Spain or Cambridge, UK are also possible locations.

As a Data Integration Specialist in the IDA department, you will work with CPSS scientists to support the build rapid prototypes of data integration applications to aid in the interpretation and representation of complex biological data from multiple data types. You will work with the data engineering team and IT department to develop these prototypes into sustainable and supported applications to be used during the development of pre-clinical products.

Imaging and Data Analytics is a rapidly developing and expanding group in CPSS, working with cutting edge technology in an open and collaborative environment, nursing innovative ideas and the Data Integration Specialist should embrace this dynamic environment and bring equally novel solutions to the role. The group has a strong focus on data access, warehousing and visualization of experiential, as well as, predictive data. To achieve the data quality we desire, and increase the impact of the department to the business, you will need to work with our numerous and diverse teams, including our off-shore support teams and across the data science community and outside CPSS, as required.

What you will do

As a Data Integration Specialist in the group, your main responsibilities will involve:

* Application and development of data integration methods and applications, as well as some expertise in creating high quality visualizations
* Develop and support R and Python applications
* Support our scientists to best utilize information from our data lake
* Extract, Transform and Load data from multiple sources to scientists

Essential for the role

* B.Sc., M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in computer science, data science, or a related field; preferably with industry experience (the position can be filled flexibly at either entry or more senior level)
*

Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas

* Expertise in programming particularly Java, R and Python
* Expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools, preferable Spotfire and/or Power BI
* Knowledge of DAX programming
* Knowledge in ETL tools and platforms (e.g. SnapLogic)

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment
* Innovative thinking, with enthusiasm, energy and drive
* Open-minded, and ready to embrace new ideas and different perspectives
* Strong critical thinking, planning, organizational and time management skills

Desirable for the role

* Experience of Pharmaceutical R&D
* Previous experience using cloud platforms such as AWS would be beneficial
