The steelplant plant can be described as a giant machine running 24-7, 365 days a year. SSAB is world leading when it comes to high strength steels and the largest steel producer in the Nordics. So, to start with, the stats are impressive, but this is only the beginning. SSAB is right now launching one of it 's largest investments ever, to start produce fossil free steel by 2026, through a technology called HYBRIT. For Oxelösund this means rebuilding the factory, and a total overhaul of all IT-systems. Over the coming years systems will be exchanged for a state of the art IT environment. In other words, you as a Data Engineer will have an opportunity of a lifetime, to help create the smartest, most digitized fossil free steel factory in the world! Considering the location, Oxelösund, you can work from a distance, but if you can be at the office at least once or twice a week we would be very happy. YOUR WORKDAY
As a Data Engineer at SSAB you will be working alongside with our Data Manager and you will also have cooperation with data engineers and data scientists as well as several system owners.
You will design, develop and build real-time data pipelines from a combination of different sources (sensor data, alarms, logs, images, videos, APIs, data warehouse, etc.). You will also design and build solutions to track data quality, stabilize data pipeline and troubleshooting and ensure that best practices are followed across architecture, codebase and configuration.
WHO ARE YOU?
As Data Engineer you like to see results and you are used to take responsibility within your own projects, using a solution oriented focus. You need to speak professional Swedish and English and feel comfortable to collaborate to establish the optimal data integration patterns/solutions.
You have probably worked a couple of years, or more as ETL developer and now you are ready for new challenges. We believe you have experience of a Microsoft Data Warehouse (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and PL/SQL.
If you already worked as Data Engineer we believe have experience of open source technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, Spark etc. Another bonus would be experience of Python, Machine Learning tools, Power BI or similar visualization-tool
