The Machine
Learning team's main responsibility is to create production volume forecasts
for PostNord production units. It is our goal to create machine learning models
that deliver forecasts with high accuracy, that enables PostNord's production
units to plan staffing levels and truck utilization in the most efficient and
environmentally friendly way.
PostNord is
the leader of logistics and postal services in the Nordics. As a part of the IT
organization, we support a variety of different PostNord stakeholders in a
multitude of areas, such as e.g. HR, mail and logistics. We are already
delivering business critical forecasting models that are an important piece of
the puzzle of optimizing our operations,
Our digital
transformation journey started a few years back with migrating BI/DW platforms
to Azure and we are now using a modern infrastructure to build solutions that
enables data-driven decision making.
The team
delivery consists of developing, training, running and monitoring time
series-based volume forecasting, based on our vast amounts of historical data
on logistics operations in the Nordics.
Our
technology is focused on the Azure stack, and includes Azure Auto ML, Azure ML
Ops, Azure DevOps CI/CD, Power BI etc.

This is a
"hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills that allows
working across the whole data engineering discipline. You will build and
optimize complex data pipelines in Microsoft Azure and Databricks. You will
work closely with other data analysts, forecasting specialists and data
scientists to provide the required data models and data sets and enable the
training of new machine learning models. You will take part in building the
cloud infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and
loading of data from a wide variety of data sources to Azure. As a data
engineer you will also be able to create visual data presentations in the form
of dashboards and reports.

- A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

- At least 3-5 years of experience in data engineering

- Experience in developing and deploying data pipelines in cloud-based environments (Azure preferred).

- Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and data lakes/warehouses - in a cloud environment preferably Azure.

- Experience with ETL and data modelling.

- Experience in Azure ADF and Databricks.

- Strong understanding of core cloud concepts - Azure data storage, Azure compute, data connections and APIs.

- Proficiency in Python.

- Knowledge and exposure to structured and unstructured data, file formats, storage, etc.

- Experience in data modelling and with data visualization in Power BI or similar tool.

- Familiarity with modern data architecture, (MS SQL preferred).

- Communication skills in both written and spoken English.

Meritorious experience

- Communication skills in both written and spoken Swedish.

- Experience in AGILE project methodology and practice.

- Prior experience implementing generative AI/LLM's or ML.

- Experience in using containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm for building and deploying scalable and reproducible machine learning applications.

- Have worked with Azure ML Studio and Azure DevOps
