Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions. Our values - customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste - are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Role Summary

Our department plays an important role in Scania's data strategy to deliver top analytical solutions. We enable and enhance data to empower our employees to perform at their best by providing excellent solutions that increase and secure the right decisions to reach and exceed business goals.

You will be a part of a Squad consisting of Data Engineers and a Service Delivery Manager working towards the People and Culture business area. You will be part of a like-minded team that has a passion for working with BI solutions, and together you will create data solutions that bring value to our customers. You will also be involved and contribute to the Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the organization. We work closely with the business (Business & IT as One) and with various stakeholder groups to gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs.

We use scrum methodologies and sprints to follow up our work. Together with the squad, you will be developing high-quality BI solutions. You will develop new data products and work with our existing portfolio as well as documentation and performance adjustments. Our technical platforms are in the cloud and on-premises. The cloud setup is in AWS with Snowflake as a data warehouse, Matillion as our ETL/ELT tool, and PowerBI as a visualization tool. Our legacy on-premises platform with the Scania common data warehouse is Oracle-based with Oracle 19C and Oracle Data Integrator. We are in a transition phase to move away from on-premises into our highly capable cloud platform.

Who You Are

4+ years of experience with DW development and support
2+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS/Snowflake
Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, data access, and data storage
Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
Working experience with both low-code and high-code environments for ETL
Knowledge of PowerBI in Cloud, Tabular Editor, and other BI/DW tools is meriting
Basic understanding of git branching, and the ability to push and pull code to and from a git repository
Strong English language skills
Good knowledge of requirements collection for reporting applications

These skills are a bonus but not a must:

Experience in people and culture domains, procurement, or finance
Experience and enjoyment of agile methods and DevOps to deliver value continuously
An academic degree in computer science or equivalent

We hope that you are someone that adds energy to the group and push the team to reach new levels. You take responsibility for your own and the team's development and are happy to drive improvements within both processes and tools. You are a team player who dares to take initiative and easily adapts to different situations and work conditions. You communicate fluently in English and have the ability to connect with users and their representatives, understanding requirements and analyzing data. You meet users' expectations and bring clarity to unclear requirements through dialogue. Additionally, a person who enjoys having fun with colleagues is much appreciated!
