The MarTech tribe at If P&C Insurance is advancing its capabilities in omni-channel, real-time and personalized customer communications. To create customer-centric solutions in this area we have invested in a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and you will be part in developing and owning the data foundation in Azure to support the personalized customer journeys that will be key to giving the best customer experience in the future.
About the role
As a Data Engineer, you will develop and own the data resources in Azure Databricks and Data Lake to bring customer related data events into the Customer Data Platform to be used for omni-channel, real-time and personalized communications. The role is supporting a Nordic data foundation so your ability to develop with high degree of reuse and automation is key. You'll join an easy-going Nordic team of developers who make this happen and have fun while doing it.
You'll have a high degree of freedom together with your squad members in developing a data foundation to support the customer communications and to source data from existing data solutions in If to reflect what insurances customers have with us and through data expose needs that customers have. We support a cloud-first approach using several Azure technologies within the framework of our Data Management Platform in If. You are proficient with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, SQL, data governance and ETL technologies including Azure Data Factory. You take pride in choosing the most appropriate data storage given the task and ensuring cost efficient solutions in Azure.
We practice agile and DevOps in our day-to-day life. We pride ourselves in improving our Azure solutions with sound engineering principles and Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, high test coverage and proactive monitoring. We love Tech!

Who are you?
You're passionate about data engineering and data in Azure, have experience from a wide range of data technologies and storage including structured and unstructured data, streaming and real-time. You are experienced in ETL and managing mission critical data loadings, love data modelling and optimizing data efficiency and performance continuously.
It's a big bonus if you have hands-on knowledge of REST APIs and an interest in AI, Data privacy and security.
We believe you have experience in some of the following technologies: CDPs (Bloomreach, Insider, Salesforce Data Cloud, mParticle), Databricks, SQL Server, Azure SQL database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage or corresponding technologies in Google Cloud Platform. It's a bonus if you have also worked with any of Kafka/Spark and event driven technologies including Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub.
You also have:
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Software engineering or equivalent experience
Excellent English language and communication skills (oral and written)
Previous experience with application and software development
