hela Sverige We are looking to for an experienced Data Engineer to join us on our mission to contribute to a greener future. You will be a part of our Battery Intelligence Team at our HQ's in Stockholm.
Within Northvolt, our batteries and factories are producing large amounts of streaming data which then gets captured in our cloud platform, processed, organized, and made ready for analysis. Working within the Battery Intelligence Team, we will together understand, monitor and predict battery health & life across the fleet of connected batteries and develop state-of-the art machine learning solutions. We use technology and data with the goal to build the smartest and greenest battery.
About the job
We are searching for someone passionate about designing and building cloud data platforms for both streaming and batch data ingested from our customers' connected battery systems. You will build systems that handle that data and prepare it for our advanced analytics and machine-learning use cases. You have experience with data at scale and are comfortable developing systems given varying requirements in data volume, variety, velocity and volume. We are looking for a curious life-long learner who takes ownership and is eager to collaborate to build better products. In this role, you will be a vital member of the Battery Intelligence team.
Key responsibilities include
Design, maintain and monitor cloud architectures comprised of databases, data lakes, orchestrators as well as streaming and batch ingestion systems
Build and optimize data pipelines for processing large-scale raw data streams from our connected batteries as well as for preparing data sets for advanced analytics and battery intelligence use cases, while ensuring data quality
Define, build and maintain data models & schemas and make data and analytics results accessible to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Skills & Requirements
Preferred Experience
Languages: SQL, Python (Go is a plus)
Data serialization, transfer protocols and file formats
Very good understanding of SQL, cloud data warehouses (one of Redshift/Snowflake/Firebolt/Databricks) and database technologies in general
Design and implementation of software in distributed data systems (streaming, delivery semantics, idempotence, partitioning, consistency concerns)
Data orchestration, pipelining, monitoring, alerting (e.g. Airflow/Luigi, dbt)
Data modeling (e.g. (de)normalization for OLTP/OLAP), preferably time series data modelling
Linux/*NIX environments and version control
Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure): Data storage, processing, and compute technologies, IaC
Not Required (but bonus points)
[Bonus] Container orchestration (eg Kubernetes) and/or serverless infrastructure
[Bonus] Real-time time-series data within (Industrial) IoT applications
[Bonus] Manufacture industry and/or Li-ion technology experience
[Bonus] Engineering foundation understanding (electro/mechanical/chemical/physical), preferably within the energy domain
[Bonus] Web services to expose data to consumers
[Bonus] Python: Data analysis and visualization (jupyter, pandas, matplotlib/seaborn/bokeh/plotly etc.)
