Title Data Centre Technician

Verizon Enterprise Solutions offer a full suite of global voice, data and Internet services and provide high-speed global private line and frame relay services to worldwide businesses.
We are looking for a Data Centre Technician to our facilities in Lunda/Solna.

The Data Centre Technician will be a part of a team of 4 DC Technicians and perform hands-on installation such as cabling and patching - copper, fibre and power - alongside installation of cable management, cages etc. in the Lunda Data Centre.
Provide support of collocation and hosting customers and also support the technical facilities engineering team on planning and expansion of the capacity in the DC
An important task is to monitor the Ticket Management System and records to provide service delivery support for both internal groups and clients throughout the product lifecycle management.

The Technician will also be performing other administrative tasks such as ordering/receiving DC equipment and also creation/maintenance of relevant documentation and databases using Verizon tools and system.
The team participate in a rotating shift schedule for on call duty.

Job Responsibilities
• Installation and support of collocation and hosting customers
• Hardware rack/stack - servers, routers, switches and related equipment
• Cabling and patching - copper, fibre and power plus installation of cable management, cages etc.
• Support the technical facilities engineering team on planning and expansion capacity in the DC
• Creation/Maintenance of relevant documentation and databases using Verizon tools and system.
• Monitoring of Ticket Management System and records
• Provide appropriate quality written and verbal handovers.
• Provide pre-sales support to Verizon account teams on new business opportunities.
• Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
• Ensure the environment is keep clean and tidy.
• Ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.
• Recognition of high impact situations and escalation of same.
• Maintenance of Physical and Logical Security.

Qualifications:
• Requires knowledge and skills of IP network and telecommunications infrastructure as well as structured cabling.
• Requires familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies surrounding the Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems. Customer care/management to meet service delivery goals.
• Multitasking, prioritisation, time management.
• English and Swedish.
• Driver's license and car.
• Ability to participate in a rotating on call schedule outside business hours.
• Knowledge of cooling and power is desirable
