We are now recruiting Predictive Science Data Experts (Data Angels) to the Department of R&D Information, AstraZeneca, Mölndal. Preferred start is as soon as possible. Initial duration of the positions is 6 months with possibility to be extended.
The role of the Data Angels is to help drug project teams engaged in Model-Based Drug Discovery and Development to find, retrieve and integrate important project related data and information. This is primarily a hands-on delivery role, but you will also contribute to application and system enhancement projects. The Data Angels work in close collaboration with the drug project teams to define data and information requirements for specific scientific questions and will have the responsibility for fast and efficient data access to address project needs.
Required Qualifications:
We are looking for senior scientists with interdisciplinary skills within bioscience, informatics and IT as listed below.
• Broad biological understanding (PhD in biology/chemistry/medicine or related area), experience of cross-disciplinary work is preferable.
• Proven professional experience of basic computational technologies including scripting (e.g. Perl, Python, Knime, Pipeline Pilot etc.), databases (e.g. SQL), viz tools (e.g. Spotfire, Cytoscape), and analysis tools (R, SAS). Not on a professional software developer-level level, but a basic fluency in the technologies above.
• Experience within informatics and information sciences. Solid knowledge in data access, retrieval, integration, management and exploitation
• Experience in driving projects, collaborative and leadership capabilities
To be successful in this role it is essential to have excellent communication and social skills as well as being an analytical problem solver. Good collaborative skills are necessary and you should be comfortable to work in an international environment. Excellent English is required, both spoken and in writing.
