The role
As a Product Data Analyst at Viaplay, you will shape the future of entertainment by further enhancing our data-driven product development process and providing the product management with insights. The Viaplay teams work cross-functional, autonomous and agile, and we are constantly striving to improve our product, technology and the way we do things.

You will work in the Validated Learning team as part of our Engineering department. This team acts as a platform team that enables product teams to use user behavior data. As an analyst in this team, you will support product managers, developers and data analysts to understand various aspects of user tracking data and provide solutions to remove obstacles, find and access data, define and evaluate experiments with confidence while working with these data.
Your responsibilities will include, for example:

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

• Provide support on setup experiments (A/B testing)

• Develop and implement data models, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain datasets

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to highlight data issues and data quality

• Filter and "clean" data by reviewing data models, and performance indicators to locate and correct dataset

What we're looking for
You are naturally curious and passionate about digital products. With excellent analytical skills and a customer-centric approach, you love making sense of and structure data. You build your own structure with ease, are results-oriented and can work independently on an operational level. As you will be at the heart of things and enable change, your communication skills will be essential to thrive in this role.

Successful candidates meet the following requirements:

• Academic degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent

• Have 3+ years working experience in a relevant field.

• Familiar with all aspects of data wrangling, such data cleansing, de-duplication, joining, among other processing tasks

• Proven working experience as a Data Analyst

• Technical expertise regarding data models, data collection & automation

• Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL, Python, and Spark

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong at queries, report writing, data visualization, and presenting findings

Bonus skills (not must have) for most successful candidates are:

• Developers experience working with toggles for experimentation (A/B tests)

• Developers experience on integrating third-party SDKs into the product

• Experience as system owner of an experimentation platform (ie Split.io or Optimizely)

• Experience in media or streaming
